VHP to build shaktipitha in PokhranVishwa Hindu Parishad working president Ashok Singhal has said a shaktipitha would be built near Pokhran as a symbol of India's resurgence as a nuclear power. Singhal said that holy waters from all the religious places in the country would be brought to the place for the consecration of the shaktipitha, where a mela would be organised every year to commemorate the occasion. He said the mela would be held on the Buddha purnima day as nuclear tests were conducted on both the occasions on that day. The VHP working president described the tests as the pride of the country. He equated the nuclear weapon with Lord Krishna's chhakra. Singhal said the mela near the shaktipitha every year would inspire the people and instill confidence in them. UNI
