Sanctions mean trouble but nation should unite, says PawarSharad Pawar says India will face serious problems following the recent nuclear tests, and pointed out that every Indian should stand united at this crucial juncture. Talking to reporters in Kolhapur, Pawar said the country was already passing through a financial crunch following severe problems and setback in industrial, agriculture and business sectors, and hence the nuclear tests were conducted at a wrong time. Due to the tests, various nations were forced to impose economic Sanctions, and this would definitely have an impact on the nation. Therefore, people should forget their political differences and stand united on this issue, Pawar, leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, said. "Our nation's present economic situation is not good and healthy, particularly on the industrial front, and the sanctions will adversely affect ongoing power projects, road construction, development of ports and other developmental activities," he pointed out. The Vajpayee government has shown that India is a nuclear weapons state with the capacity for a big bomb, but the infrastructure was developed by the earlier Congress governments, Pawar added. UNI
