Karnataka govt go all out against sexual harassmentThe Karnataka cabinet on Saturday decided to amend the conduct rules for government servants so as to make sexual harassment of women in work places a criminal offence. Briefing newsmen after a cabinet meeting, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister M C Nanaiah said making sexual advances towards women employees, showing pornography, physical contact and advance would be treated as an offence. Such actions would attract heavy punishment, including dismissal from service. The government decided to amend the conduct rules in view of the guidelines prescribed by the Supreme Court, in August, 1997. UNI
