Mulayam makes fun of BJP's stability plank
Samajwadi Party chief and former defence minister Mulayam Singh Yadav made fun of the stability plank of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Speaking on the confidence motion moved by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Yadav said the hollowness of the party's claims was exposed when the party wavered in the finance minister's appointment.
First, the name of Jaswant Singh was floated for the post, then the prime minister said he would himself retain the portfolio and finally, at the end of the day, it went to Yashwant Sinha.
He described the BJP-led coalition's national agenda as
anti-India. It is an 'agenda for power'.
He said the party's claim of pursuing the path of
consensus was hollow.
He also criticised the BJP and its allies for their remarks on the
nuclear option and said it was a sensitive matter.
