Hegde will not be deputy PM: AdvaniBharatiya Janata Party president Lal Kishinchand Advani said there was no understanding between his party and the Lok Shakthi to make Ramakrishna Hegde the country's deputy prime minister if the alliance was voted to power. Speaking to the media at Davangere in Karnataka, Advani said the matter was not raised during pre-alliance talks between the two parties. With the alliance, the BJP would secure a comfortable majority, he said. Hegde, who was also present at the media meet, said the Janata Dal should prove in the election that it enjoyed the people's confidence iin Karnataka. UNI |
