Kesri, Sonia didn't have any fight: Arjun SinghCongress Working Committee member Arjun Singh says there is no confrontation between Sonia Gandhi and party president Sitaram Kesri on the leadership issue. Those who are trying to build such a dispute are not well-wishers of the party, he said. Singh said many people, who would like to dismiss Sonia as of 'no consequence', would be surprised by the kind of impact she was going to create in the election. Queried about the defections from his party, Singh was not very forthcoming. "The defectors must have their own reasons," he said, " But it will not create any adverse impact on the party." As to what stand the Congress would have on the Jain Commission and Bofors issues if it came to power, Singh said 'stern action' would be taken against those involved in the conspiracy behind Rajiv Gandhi's assassination on the basis of the Commission's final report. On the Bofors issue, Singh said Rajiv Gandhi himself had said in Parliament that he and his family had nothing to do with the matter. He said those who were still trying to link Bofors with the late prime minister were playing 'dirty politics'. The senior Congress leader said his party had made it very clear on several occasions that there was no evidence against Rajiv Gandhi or his family to prove their involvement in the Bofors case.
