Gehlot inducts 31 ministers in 2-tier council

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today expanded his Cabinet, inducting 31 members in his two-tier ministry.

Eighteen ministers of Cabinet rank and 13 ministers of state were sworn in by acting Governor N L Tabriwal at a function in Raj Bhavan.

The Cabinet ministers sworn in today are: Banwarilal Berwa, B D Kalla, Bhikha Bhai, Bhoga Lal Bakolia, Chandanmal Baid, C P Joshi, Dr Chandrabhan, Gullan Singh Shaktawat, Harendra Mirdha, Kamla Baniwal, Khet Singh Rathore, Kishan Motwani, Pradhuman Singh, Ram Singh Vishnoi, Shanti Dhariwal, Tayyub Hossain, Jakia Inam, and Ram Kishen Varma.

The ministers of state are Abdul Aziz, Bhagraj Chowdhury, Bina Kak, Chandrashekhar, Dayaram Parmar, Deependra Singh Shekhawat, Hari Singh Kumher, Hira Lal Indora, Indira Mayaram, Dr Jitendra Singh, Master Bhanwar Lal, Parsadi Lal Meena, and Rajendra Chowdhury.

Gehlot has thus made room in government for all important party functionaries in the state. Harendra Mirdha and Deependra Singh Shekhawat are vice-presidents, C P Joshi, Rajendra Chowdhury and Dr Chandrabhan are general secretaries, and Chandanmal Baid is treasurer of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee.

The chief minister himself is a member of the Lok Sabha and president of the RPCC.

Gehlot returned to Jaipur this afternoon from New Delhi where he had gone immediately after being sworn in on December 1 to consult senior party leaders on the composition of his government.
