Pak willing to sign CTBT, claims newspaper

Pakistan has agreed, in principle, to sign the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty and an announcement to this effect may be made in London when Pakistani Foreign Secretary Shamshad Ahmed meets US deputy secretary of state Strobe Talbot, a leading Urdu newspaper in Pakistan has reported.

The Nawai Waqt, quoting diplomatic sources, on Friday said a positive response would be conveyed to Talbot when Ahmed meets him.

The Pakistani delegation left for London today.

The paper went on to claim that Pakistan was ''losing the battle it had won after conducting the nuclear tests in May this year".'
