102 senior IAS officers transferredIn a major administrative reshuffle, the Uttar Pradesh government transferred 102 senior IAS officers late last night. The reshuffle included 42 district magistrates, six divisional commissioners and several principal secretaries and secretaries of different departments. The commissioner and district magistrate of Lucknow and the vice-chairman of the Lucknow Development Authority were among those transferred. Thirtyseven officers in the super-time scale have been affected in the reshuffle, according to an official spokesmen. P L Punia, principal secretary, forests, has been made the chairman of the administrative tribunal (second), and will be replaced by T George Joseph, chairman and chief executive officer, greater Noida. Brajesh Kumar, resident commissioner in New Delhi, will take Joseph's place. The additional CEO, Greater Noida, Vibha Puri Das, has been asked to take charge as the vice chairman, Ghaziabad Development Authority in place of Rita Menon who goes as the secretary, women's welfare and child development department. Manjulika Gautam, principal secretary, women and child development, has been transferred to secretariat administration and general administration in the same post, replacing B Venkatachalam who goes as the secretary of labour department. V K Mittal, principal secretary, higher education, will now be the principal secretary, PWD, replacing V K Deewan who moves to the medical, health and family welfare department in the same capacity. Ajay Prakash Varma, principal secretary, medical, has now been made the principal secretary, industrial development. Akhand Pratap Singh, principal secretary, education, has been transferred to the technical education department in the same post. Desh Deepak Varma, the commissioner of Lucknow division will now be the MD of UP State Road Transport Corporation. He will be replaced by Arun Kumar Misra, secretary, urban development. Jai Shankar Misra, the VC, LDA, will be the secretary, urban development. R Ramani, commissioner, Kanpur, has been made the principal secretary, education. Sunil Kumar Agarwal, secretary, industrial development, will be the commissioner, Devipatan, while the director, Ayurved, Prabhas Kumar Jha has been made the commissioner, Azamgarh division. N A Vishwanathan, CEO, Noida, will be the commissioner of Meerut, replacing M Ramchandran who goes as the resident commissioner in Delhi. R M Varshney, commissioner, Devipatan has replaced Sushil Mohan as secretary, PWD, who will be the inspector general (prisons). Manjeet Singh, IG (prisons) has been posted as the commissioner, Jhansi division. Satish Kumar Agarwal, secretary, technical education, has been shifted to the sugar industry in the same capacity, replacing Siddharth Behura who goes as the CEO, Noida. K Chandramauli, secretary, industry, has been transferred to the rural development department in the same post, replacing Ramchandra who replaces Sharda Shahyak as administrator. Dilip Kumar, administrator, Sharda Shahyak, will be the principal secretary, environment, while secretary, environment, Indu Kumar Pandey will be the MD, PICUP. Kunwar Fateh Bahadur Singh, secretary, planning, has been made the director, State Planning Institute, replacing Arvind Moham who moves as the secretary, industry. Dinesh Rai, secretary, animal husbandry, and the secretary, handicapped development, have been asked to swap posts. Sharda Prasad, secretary, home, will now be the secretary, Uttaranchal development, while Lakshmi Chand, chairman, state road transport will be the principal secretary, transport. V N Channa, chairman, UP State Sugar Corporation has been transferred as chairman, administrative tribunal and the chairman, vigilance while Manoj Kumar, VC, Allahabad Development Authority has been posted as the commissioner, Mirzapur division.
