Did you find it difficult to shoot after two years? After the period film Lagaan, do you miss action roles or the loverboy kind, like in Dil Chahta Hai?

Actually, I have been working for 15 years and needed a break. I spent time with my family. I read a lot.

I missed out on all the action for two years. Now, I'm really looking forward to working in this film.

We start shooting on January 6, the same day Lagaan was launched. We should finish by May 2004.

I do roles that excite me. The character is important. You can't bracket them into slots.
