Music with attitude

Sukanya Verma

Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega is an album with attitude. Tons of it.

Loosely based on the Danny DeVito-Betty Midler starrer Ruthless People, E Niwas' (Shool) Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega is a racy comedy starring Saif Ali Khan, Fardeen Khan, Sonali Bendre, Twinkle Khanna and Aftab Shivdasani. Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega

Composer Vishal (Maachis, Satya) comes up with some fun-filled music with whimsical, yet amusing, lyrics by Abbas Tyrewala.

The album kickstarts with the catchy, mischievous Love ke liye by Udit Narayan and Sunidhi Chauhan.

Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi KaregaRama rama, in the voices of Asha Bhosle and Sonu Nigam gets on your lips in a matter of few seconds. An immensely hummable, foot-tapping love ditty that is bound to climb popularity charts. Like Kambakth ishq (Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya), Rama rama offers a remix version with additional acoustics and beats.

Move over Kalu Mamma (Satya), in comes Aslam bhai. Despite the fact that it has absurd lines like Dubai ka chashmaa, Cheen ki chaddi aur Irani chai, the song manages to click.

Point to note: Aslam Bhai has ridiculed practically everyone in the industry… hakla (Shah Rukh Khan), ganja (too many to mention)... Hrithik Roshan's sixth finger hasn't been spared either.

Love x crime = fun qawwali has been rendered by Sonu Nigam and the popular qawwali artiste Farid Sabri. It is a mish mash of hip-hop, rock, lavani, bhangra, opera, you name it. This bhel puri is a bit heavy to digest.Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega

The inimitable Asha comes back to spice things up, with KK in tow to croon Socho kya karogi -- a twist-style number that seems to draw its inspiration from Elvis Priestly. Neat stuff.

Dhan dhan is not much different from the title song, but KK does a good job of it.

Love it, hate it, you simply can't ignore Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega.
