Amisha walks out!

Amisha Patel It's finally out -- 'it' being the real reason for Amisha Patel walking out of Satish Kaushik's Badhi Ho Badhai.

The film was slated to be produced by Anil Kapoor, Satish Kaushik and Anupam Kher, but the latter walked out at the eleventh hour.

The heroines of the film were Karisma Kapoor and Amisha Patel. But barely did Kher step out, than the Kapoor girl also walked too, though the two exits were not linked to one common reason.

Karisma cited date problems, though buzz had it that she believed she had grown enough in stature to not need to do inconsequential two-heroine films.

So Shilpa Shetty stepped in.

And now Amisha Patel has walked out... with another of those lame excuses. But again, the real reason is that though she didn't mind playing second fiddle to Karisma, she was in no mind to do so with Shilpa!

So Keerti Reddy (who has no other choice anyways) is doing the honours.

Manisha's dilemma

Manisha Koirala The splash of photographs of her current beau, Crispin Conroy, led to a lot of media speculation about Manisha Koirala’s wedding plans.

But even before the glow engendered by all that media talk had faded, than she realised the impact and repercussions that it was having on her career. The offers diminished, while producers of her ongoing films went into panic.

Now the Nepali princess is easily available to the fourth estate, and is busy giving interviews about how there is no marriage planned in the immediate future and that she would like to concentrate on her career.

Then again, could this change of heart have anything to do with Mr Conroy and his own plans?

Ekta adds one more K to her success!

Ekta Kapoor Looking for the K(ey) to success?

Well, Ekta Kapoor has it, and is carrying it from the idiot box to the silver screen, hoping that Lady Luck will follow the K path here too.

Not many know that Ekta, who was going through a rough patch with her software productions, was on the verge of beginning afresh when her Guruji gave her the green signal, with a special request that the title of the serial should begin with the alphabet K.

With that was born the popular television serial, Kyonki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi...the beginning of a successful innings.

She went on to produce one success after another, Kalash, Koshish Ek Ashaa, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki...

And now her underproduction film, starring Govinda, Sushmita Sen and Rambha, which is racing to completion, is titled Kyon Ki Main Jhooth Hain Bolta!

Salman's generous act

Salman Khan We have heard of stars forgoing their installments so that a film is released without any hassles.

We have even heard of stars cutting down their remuneration at the time of release.

But ever heard of a star who not just forgoes his installments, but also opens his safe and completes the shooting schedule of the film with his own money?!

Well, that's exactly what the eccentric and erratic Salman Khan did!

Apparently, producer Bubby Kent was almost on the verge of canceling the shooting schedule of his new film as the distributors and financiers did not cough up the necessary installments. But Salman loaned the producer money, without any agreement, merely on trust and let the shooting schedule sail smoothly without any hiccup.

Aamir sets a new trend

Aamir Khan At a time when all the producers, big or small, are rushing their trailers to the small screen and trying to reach out to the masses, Aamir Khan has decided something quite contrary.

He wants his trailers released in the theatres first!

Yes, all of Lagaan's trailers have had theatrical releases, without a single frame of the film being shown on television, to such terrific responses.

It seems the exhibitors are rushing to Aamir’s office for fresh trailers and he is getting unprecedented terms from distributors and exhibitors.

Like Aamir told a friend, "This is my Saraswati and where there is Saraswati, Laxmimata cannot be far behind..."
