Arunachal CM urges action to reduce unemployment

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang on Tuesday stressed the need to formulate an action plan to reduce the high level of unemployment in the state.

Releasing the report of a regional symposium on Career Planning for the Youth in the northeastern states organised by Prayas, a non-governmental organisation, Apang said, ''It is high time to formulate a proper action plan to solve the unemployment problem in Arunachal Pradesh."

He said the planning should not only be confined to produce white collar jobs for the educated unemployed youth of the state, it should also cover self-employment, and employment in industries, agriculture and farming.

Lauding the role of Prayas for preparing the career planning report for the youth, Apang assured all possible help from his government to the organisation. He said, "Money will not be a problem. Will and determination is the need of the hour to effectively implement the schemes for the benefit of the poor and needy people.''

He said the report would be immensely helpful to the state government in formulating action plan to combat the unemployment problem among the educated youth of the state.
