JK Budget targets Rs 87.77 bn next fiscal

Jammu and Kashmir is targeting to mop up Rs 87.77 billion during the next financial year.

This was stated by state Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather in the assembly on Wednesday while presenting the Budget for 2002-03.

The estimated resources for the next fiscal is around Rs 32.82 billion in which the state's own tax revenue is around Rs 9.35 billion while the estimates of the non-tax revenue and capital receipts is around Rs 7.19 billion and Rs 16.27 billion respectively, Rather said in his summary of the estimates.

In the three-hour long presentation, Rather gave details about various fiscal measures taken during the last year.

''The efforts made to maximise the tax yield and curb the non-plan expenditure during the last financial year has yielded results,'' the minister said.
