Market@April 20: Day's reportWhile the undertone remained positive, values remained volatile for a major part of the day on Friday. Himachal managed to hit the 16 per cent upper circuit, while Sterlite Optical hit the 8 per cent upper circuit. Global and SSI recorded a gain of more than 11 per cent each. Wipro was up 7 per cent. NIIT lost 14 per cent and other ITC stocks remained mixed. Among the old economy counters, Cipla was the star perfomer. It gained 9 per cent. MTNL, HLL, ITC, Hindalco, BPCL, Dr Reddy's Laboratories and Nestle also recorded impressive gains. Reliance, Bhel, ACC, SBI and Telco dipped sharply. Sensex up 9 points at 3583.
