Market@September 6: Day's report

Software stocks remained mixed through the day. Himachal was the major gainer, up over 6 per cent. Aptech also gained more than 4.7 per cent and attracted an all-time high volume of 1.2 million shares. DSQ Software and Satyam Computer were also firm. However, Infosys, Zee Tele and SSI remained under pressure, and closed negative. Meanwhile, Reliance and Hindustan Lever gained more than 2 per cent each. Other stocks remained dull.

Sensex was up 8 points at 4606. Nifty up 6 points at 1434.
