NSE revamps NiftyClose on the heels of the revamp of the benchmark 30-share index of the Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex, the National Stock Exchange, or NSE, too has altered the composition of its 50-share index S&P CNX Nifty, replacing IDBI and East India Hotels, with Zee Telefilms and HCL Infosystems. The change will come into effect from Wednesday. The index maintenance sub-committee of India Index Services & Products Limited, or IISL, a joint venture between the NSE and the Credit Rating Information Services of India, or CRISIL, effected the changes. The NSE had earlier removed TVS Suzuki from Nifty on May 17 after the company merged with Sundaram Auto Engineers India. Dabur India will replace TVS Suzuki.
