Market@May 11: Day's reportAs a result of a sharp dip on Nasdaq, a large number of software stocks opened at lower circuit. The sentiment remained extremely bearish for a major part of the day. Marginal recovery came in select software counters in the last 15 minutes. Stocks like Himachal, Zee Tele, Global Tele and SSI closed at lower circuit of 12 per cent (see yesterday's Technical Analysis). Non-software stocks also witnessed selling pressure. L&T and ITC were the strongest counters. Sensex closed 210 points lower at 4248. Nifty was down 51 points at 1312. Trading volume was relatively low. Satyam, Infosys, Zee Tele, Himachal and Reliance topped the volume chart accounting for 52 per cent of total trading on the BSE. Wipro touched its all-time high volume. BSE Sensex
