Market@10 March: Day's report

Sentiment remained negative throughout the day as speculators remained net sellers. Selling was aggressive especially in software stocks, and a large number of software stocks hit the lower limit on the BSE.

Infosys, Wipro, DSQ, and Global showed smart rally in mid-session, however, as panic selling gripped other software stocks, these counters too showed a sharp drop. The sentiment for cyclicals was equally bearish.

Satyam Computers, HFCL, ZEE, Global Tele, and DSQ Software topped volume chart on the BSE accounting for nearly 45 per cent of the total turnover.

Sensex down 31 points at 5297, Nifty down 38 points at 1608.
