Market@June 26: Day's reportFriday's fall in Nasdaq had a negative impact on opening prices of the software stocks. A large number of software stocks opened weak and lost further ground in the first half. Several stocks dipped below the 8 per cent limit. However, sentiment improved drastically for the software stocks in the last one hour of the day when Wipro showed a sharp recovery and closed 10 per cent high. Other software stocks like SSI, Satyam Comp, Himachal and Silverline also showed sharp recovery from the low. Meanwhile, the non-software segment remained dull and failed to show any gains. The trading volume was relatively low. Sensex down 53 points at 4669, Nifty down 23 points at 1449. Sensex
