Amitabh Bachchan leads list of cine income tax defaultersMegastar Amitabh Bachchan heads the list of film personalities, while his wife Jaya also figures in the top three income tax defaulters as on December 31, 1999. While the megastar owed Rs 110.9 million, Jaya Bachchan owed Rs 31.1 million. Film producer Mukesh Bhatt owed Rs 56.65 million. His brother and film-maker Mahesh Bhatt had Rs 2.35 million against his name, while his wife Soni Mahesh Bhatt owed Rs 1.88 million and daughter Pooja Bhatt owed Rs 1.10 million. Other important film personalities who figured in the list include Sridevi (Rs 2.20 million), Khushboo (Rs 3.38 million), Jayapradha (Rs 28.86 million), Vijayashanthi (Rs 2.14 million), Sivaji Ganesan (Rs 2.77 million), Ajay Devgan (Rs 3.71 million), Shah Rukh Khan (Rs 17.93 million), Sunil Shetty (Rs 4.10 million), Ajay Deol (Rs 1.34 million), Raj Babbar (Rs 1.04 million), Prabhudeva (Rs 1.81 million), Kamal Haasan (Rs 11.38 million) and Chunky Pandey (Rs 1.16 million). Some film-makers figuring in the list, given in reply to a question in the Lok Sabha by Minister of State for Finance V Dhananjay Kumar, are the late Gulshan Kumar (Rs 1.85 million), Subhash Ghai (Rs 9.33 million), Ramgopal Verma (Rs 3.61 million), O P Ralhan (Rs 6.75 million), and Satram Rohra (Rs 4.01 million). The list also includes the late Kishore Kumar (Rs 4.27 million), and singers Jagjit Singh (Rs 1.92 million) and K J Yesudas (Rs 1.30 million). UNI
