Ireland woos Indian film-makers with picturesque locations

Ireland today asked the Indian film industry to take advantage of the beautiful locales of this European country and shoot movies at picturesque places.

Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland Mary Harney, who called on Maharashtra governor P C Alexander at Governor's House in Bombay informed the latter that the country has various beautiful locations which can be an ideal location for shooting films.

Harney, who also holds the portfolios of enterprise, trade and employment, told Alexander that Ireland, being the largest exporter of software in Europe, could also seek co-operation with Indian companies in the information technology sector.

The governor explained to the visiting deputy prime minister the advantages of Maharashtra as a business and investment destination and said that the co-operation between India and Ireland in the infotech sector could be mutually beneficial.

Philip McDonagh, ambassador of Ireland in India, was also present at the meeting.
