Canara Bank launches services in Bombay for NRIsCanara Bank today introduced two novel schemes for the benefit of Non Resident Indians in Bombay. The Canbank NRI Mail Desk and Canbank Online Info Servies are at the bank's circle office at Cuffe Parade. NRI services are on the bank's priority list. Many of its branches in Bombay are being provided with e-mail and fax facility for NRIs. Canbank-NRI Mail Desk Scheme is a communication channel between the overseas NRIs and their near and dear ones in Bombay. The other scheme -- Online Info Services -- enables NRIs to get online information on various NRI schemes and services, exchange control regulations, investment opportunities, NRI taxation, customs and baggage rules, interest rates on deposits through the bank's e-mail. This facility can also be used for online balance enquiry of the various accounts at branches, requisition for cheque books, statement of accounts, acknowledgement of remittances, deposit receipt details and others.
