Pivotals make marginal gains; Nifty gains 5.75 points, 1151.60Pivotals gained marginally at the National Stock Exchange, following buying support from institutional investors and local operators today. Reflecting the trend, the S&P CNX Nifty index opened at 1147.40 points, touched the day's high of 1154.50 points, fell to the day's low of 1132.60 points before closing at 1151.60 points, showing a net gain of 5.75 points from the previous close of 1145.85 points. The S&P CNX Nifty Junior however eased slightly by 0.20 points to 1990.15 points as against the previous close of 1990.35 points respectively. The S&P CNX Defty Index rose by 4.65 points to 933.60 points as against the previous close of 928.95 points. The S&P CNX-500 ended higher by 1.16 points to 782.99 points as against the previous close of 781.83 points. However, the CNX-Midcap-200 index declined marginally by 1.91 points to 672.74 points as against the previous close of 674.65 points. Total turnover on the NSE reported during the day was Rs 18.12 billion from 70.09 million shares through 255,853 trades. Debentures traded were valued at Rs 2.6 million. Today, 354 securities advanced, 629 declined, 80 remained unchanged while 60 securities hit their price bands. UNI
