Sensex gains 100 points, to 3808 by noonThe Bombay Stock Exchange opened on a firm note today after the weekend recess. Pivotals were steady, posting moderate gains by noon. The foreign institutional investors were into some brisk buying at their favourite counters like infotech, pharma and fast moving consumer goods. The 30-share benchmark index, the Sensex, opened on a positive note, and by noon was hovering around 3808, up 100 points from Friday's close. The gains were made due to speculative deals. Commodity stocks were on the upswing too. The pharma equities, of late a bit calm, recovered their momentum on FII buying. ABB and BHEL were reported to have hit the upper limits of circuit breaker quite early in the day.
