Pivotals take a sharp dip on bull unloading; Nifty loses 21 points, 1053.15
Pivotals declined sharply at the National Stock Exchange on bull unloading and the lack of buying support from institutional investors ot the last day of current settlement today. Mirroring the downtrend, the S&P CNX Nifty index opened at 1068.85 points, touched a day's high of 1075.70 points, fell to the day's low of 1052.90 points, before closing at 1053.15 points, showing a net loss of 20.80 points as against the previous close of 1073.95 points. CNX Nifty Junior ended lower by 16.15 points to 1967.90 points as against the previous close of 1984.05 points. S&P CNX Defty dropped by 16.80 points to 860.50 points from the previous close of 877.30 points. S&P CNX-500 and Midcap 200 ended lower by 10.25 and 6.49 points to 736.74 and 658.37 points as against the previous close of 746.99 and 664.86 points respectively. Total turnover on the NSE reported during the day was Rs 31.81 billion from trading in 107.99 million shares in 349,760 trades. Debentures traded were valued at Rs 10.77 million. Today, 434 securities advanced, 674 declined, 113 remained unchanged and 96 securities hit their price bands. UNI
