Equities rise further; Nifty up six points to 1321.45
Equities gained further at the National Stock Exchange as the foreign funds and operators continued their buying spree on the second consecutive day despite the last day of current settlement at the NSE today. Reflecting the firm trend, the S&P CNX Nifty index opened at 1315.75 points, touched day's high of 1338.15 points, a low of 1315.75 points before closing at 1321.45 points, showing a net gain of 6.10 points from the previous close of 1315.35 points. The S&P CNX-500 index gained by 1.51 points at 899.81 points as against the previous close of 898.30 points. The S&P CNX Defty ended higher by 5.10 points to 1059.20 points from the previous close of 1054.65 points. The S&P CNX Nifty Junior however dropped by 29.70 points at 2088.75 points from the previous finish of 2118.45 points. The CNX-Midcap 200 too eased by 8.68 points at 763.62 points from the previous close of 772.30 points. UNI
