Rupee remains range-bound in dull trading, ends slightly stronger
The rupee remained almost steady against the greenback in a dull trading session at the interbank foreign exchange market here today. The Indian unit opened nearly steady at Rs 43.49/50, moved in a narrow range and ended at Rs 43.4875/4925, marginally higher as compared to the previous close of Rs 43.4950/50. Forward premia ended slightly higher and six-month annualised premia closed at 5.38 per cent. The monthly premia (in paise) were September 17-18, October 34-36, November 52-54, December 70-72, January 95-97, February 114-116 and March 135-138. The cash/spot ended at 0.75-1.00 paise, while and cash/tomorrow and tomorrow/spot ended at 0.25-0.50 paise each. Meanwhile, the Reserve Bank of India fixed the reference rate for the US dollar at Rs 43.49 as against the previous Rs 43.50 per unit. The rupee ended at Rs 69.05 a pound sterling, Rs 45.47 a euro and Rs 39.14 a yen. UNI ALSO SEE
