Rally continues: Nifty posts another all-time record close at 1417.50
Share prices continued their rally on brisk buying support by foreign institutional investors and bull operators pushing up the S&P CNX Nifty to yet another all-time high of 1417.50 points at the National Stock Exchange today. Reflecting the upbeat sentiment, the S&P CNX Nifty opened higher at 1402.60, shot up to the historic peak of 1425.20 before closing at yet another record at 1417.50 points, gaining 15 points or 1.06 per cent over its previous closing level of 1402.50 points. The CNX Nifty Junior also shot up by 27.10 points to 2545.75 points from 2518.65 points, while S&P CNX Defty rose by 12.40 points to 1129.25 points from 1116.85 points. The S&P CNX 500 moved up by 6.25 points to 1007.45 points from 1001.20 points and CNX Midcap 200 appreciated by 5.95 points to 922.65 points from 916.70 points. The NSE witnessed a total turnover of Rs 20.58 billion, involving 88.01 million shares. Debentures were traded for Rs 2.88 million.
