Equities move in a wide band; Nifty down 13 points to 1372
Equities moved in a wide band as the market opened on a positive note, but subsequently declined on bull liquidation at the National Stock Exchange today. Reflecting the downtrend, the S&P CNX Nifty opened a bit higher at 1383.45, rose to an intra-day high of 1414 and a low of 1341.35, before closing at 1371.65, showing a net loss of 13 points or 0.96 per cent over the previous close of 1385. The CNX Nifty Junior also fell by 60.20 points to end at 2475.75, while the S&P CNX Defty declined by by 8.85 points to 1092.05. The S&P CNX 500 fell by 11.15 points to 982.30 and CNX Midcap- 200 lost 16.40 points to close at 901.05. The total turnover was Rs 26.94 billion from trading in 142.1 million shares and the debentures were traded for Rs 2.44 million. UNI ALSO SEE A day of rumours savages stock markets
