Maruti's Zen Classic reflects Suzuki's Cervo-C, priced at Rs 364,000Maruti Udyog Limited today launched the first of the new Zen variants -- the Zen Classic -- based on the popular small car from Suzuki stables 'Cervo-C'. Priced at Rs 364,000 (ex-showroom), the car is an addition to the existing Zen range comprising Zen LX (Rs 289,000), Zen VX (Rs 339,000), Zen AX (Rs 418,000) and Zen Diesel (Rs 418,000). Close on the heels of the Zen Classic will roll out the multi-point fuel injection version of the car in September, company sources said. The price tag of the vehicle, which is presently undergoing road-testing, is yet to be finalised. According to MUL managing director Jagdish Khattar, the launch of the Zen Classic reflects Maruti's recognition of the sub-segments within the Zen market. ''As the market matures, opening up such segments is critical to success as it allows us to cater to a wider variety of customer requirements.'' The car has been restyled both externally and internally. Externally, the car's body-coloured bumpers have been given chrome finished panels. The round head lamps and tail lamps have also been chrome finished a la the Cervo-C. On the inside, the dashboard has been redesigned with wood finish louvres and stylish speedometer panel.
