A V Birla group to refocus on the legend's vision through star-studded film"I have to work, I now feel that I should enter business at the earliest and create something really big." This was the vision and committment that drove the life of Aditya Vikram Birla to become a visionary, an industrialist par excellence in India in the post-Independence era. It has been four years since A V Birla passed away. His family as well as the Birla group companies feel that it is a time to refocus on the ideas and the principles of the great visionary. They have chosen to portray his works and guidances in a film directed by Zafar Hai. The film, A Brilliant Sun, will be screened at the Sterling theatre in Bombay on August 17. According to Zafar Hai, the film is possibly one of the biggest documentaries produced in India with contributions from artists such as Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia and Roshan Seth. The most gratifying part of making the film lay in portraying the unique family background that forged A V Birla's character, in particular his relationship with the legendary G D Birla, Hai said. In fact, it is through his members and other prominent personalities who knew him well that the real A V Birla is revealed in the film, he added. In 1997, in homage to the legendary A V Birla, all his companies were consolidated under the umbrella of the Aditya Birla Group. The group's corporate logo is called Aditya, the rising sun -- universal, dynamic, all-pervading, never failing. It captures the spirit of the group's founder and symbolises a commitment to quality, to energetic performance, to perfection, to warmth in stakeholder relationships. UNI
