Mid-term poll fear shaves 51 points off Nifty; 931.35
Share prices crashed on heavy selling pressure from bull operators and financial institutions on the National Stock Exchange today as the political crisis at the Centre reached its climax today, with the dissolution of the Lok Sabha and announcement of a mid-term poll. Reflecting the bearish trend, the S&P CNX Nifty opened at 945.90 points, ended further lower at 931.35 points, as against 982 points of the previous close, losing 50.65 points. The CNX Nifty Junior Index fell sharply by 105.80 points to 1683.50 from 1789.30 points. The S&P CNX Defty lost 41.40 points to 753.10 points from 794.50 points. The S&P CNX 500 slid by 37.84 points to 640.97 points from 678.81 points while the S&P CNX 200 eased by 37.81 points to 571.41 points from 609.22 points of the previous day. UNI
