A M Naik to succeed S D Kulkarni as L&T chief

A M Naik has been appointed the new managing director and chief executive officer of Larsen & Toubro Limited.

Naik will succeed S D Kulkarni whose term expires on April 27. The decision to appoint Naik as the new chief of the company was taken at a meeting of the board of directors today.

Starting as a young engineer in 1965, naik went on to hold many important positions in the company and was elevated to the board of directors in 1989.

As president (operations), he has been incharge of the engineering and projects business and has also led the company's thrust into power plants area.

Naik thus brings to his new job, considerable experience and in-depth knowledge of various operations of the company.
