Naidu persuades IBM to set up institute in AP

IBM has agreed to collaborate and set up the IBM Electronic Government Institute in Andhra Pradesh, according to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

He is currently touring the US. On Sunday night, he addressed the Bay Area Telugu Association meet at Fremont. Naidu asserted that it would be extensively utilised for the state's all-round development and to eradicate poverty on a priority basis.

He said that Vision 2020 was prepared to meet the future requirements of the state in the next millennium and already 14 sectors of the document were identified as priority sectors.

He said several innovative programmes were initiated for the state's prosperity and a huge loan of Rs 40 billion was obtained from the purpose.

Naidu said computer courses would be started from the primary education level.
