GE Medical and Marquette complete merger processG E Medical Systems and Marquette Medical Systems have announced that they have completed their merger. GEMS is a $ 5 billion leading global provider of medical diagnostic systems and services with nearly 20,000 employees worldwide. Some of the leading GE cardiac installations in South Asia include Manipal Heart Foundation in Bangalore, India and National Heart Foundation in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi, will also shortly install the world's most advanced cardio vascular magnetic resonance imaging systems of GEMMS. MMS will continue as a wholly-owned subsidiary of GEMS and will do business as GE-MMS. The scope of the transaction includes more than 3,100 employees worldwide, and five facilities in the USA and Germany. GEMMS will manufacture and distributes products and systems to acquire, record, and monitor cardiology data and vital signs. In South Asia, GEMS has already made significant investments to promote its products and services to cardiology and patient care segments. GEMS-South Asia is the largest medical systems organisation in the region with four factories, close to 650 employees and over 80 distributors and service franchisees. UNI |
