Like father like sonRonjita Kulkarni After the success of his debut film, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Tusshar Kapoor is back with his next. Kya Pyaar Karoge Mujhse is a love story, with an element of thrill in it. The film will see the father-son duo, Jeetendra and Tusshar, on screen for the first time. Esha Deol will play the female lead.
Though the yesteryears star Jeetu, as he is fondly known, has been offered films alongside his son before, he did not accept any of them. But when daughter Ekta asked him, he could hardly refuse. Tusshar enjoys working with his father. Of course, there are disadvantages too. Jeetendra can't stop being a father, and lands up instructing his son on the sets -- which may be is a trifle embarrassing for the young Kapoor. Both father and son were unavailable for comment as they are in Hyderabad at present. Says Basu, "I chose Tusshar and Esha because I think they look very good together. Besides, my film is a very youthful film. So I needed youthful faces." With Kya Pyaar Karoge Mujhse, Basu debuts as a film director. Earlier, he was a television director with serials like Tara, Rahat, Ajeeb Daastan, Koshish Ka Asha, Kalash, Manzil Apni Apni Hoti Hai and Saturday Suspense to his credit. "After television, joining films was the logical step. I always wanted to direct films. That was my ultimate aim when I came to Bombay from Calcutta," the 27-year-old says. Anu Malik scores the music. The film is slated to release in July 2002.
