Fardeen allowed to leave city limitsA special court allowed film actor Fardeen Khan to leave Bombay city limits whenever necessary, in keeping with his professional requirements. The order was delivered on Monday August 12, 2001, on an application moved by Fardeen's lawyer Ayaz Khan.
Fardeen was also asked to deposit his passport with NCB and obtain it with the permission of the court whenever he was required to go abroad. "Thank you, your honour," said a smiling and visibly relaxed Fardeen, when the judge waived the condition restraining him from leaving Bombay. Fardeen has just returned from a shoot schedule in Australia. The court had earlier imposed the condition restraining the actor from leaving the city when he was granted bail, until further orders. Fardeen's lawyer moved the application urging the court to waive its condition as investigations were complete and a chargesheet had been filed. On August 2, 2001, the court had filed a chargesheet against Fardeen and two others. They were charged with possessing cocaine. On May 6, 2001, the NCB had seized nine grams of the drug from Fardeen's car. The matter has now been adjourned to August 16, by when the charges are expected to be framed. PTI
