The Samajwadi Party on Thursday released its first list of candidates for the December 1 elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Delhi.
Buddhasen Patel, a former member of Parliament who joined the Samajwadi Party on Thursday, figured in the list of 126 candidates for Madhya Pradesh.
Patel will contest from Churhat, where he will face the son of senior Congress leader Arjun Singh, party general secretary Amar Singh said in New Delhi.
Forty candidates have been named for Chhattisgarh, 32 for Rajasthan and 24 for Delhi, he said.
Asked whether the party would release more lists, Singh said, "It is a continuous process."
Asked if the Samajwadi Party had struck alliances with any party, he said, "So far we have not joined any front and we are going it alone in the elections."
