The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday unveiled its manifesto for the December 12 assembly election in Gujarat.
The manifesto mentions 'cultural nationalism' as its main electoral theme.
State BJP president Rajendrasinh Rana said the party was of "firm opinion" that terrorism "can be successfully countered by cultural nationalism".
"Cultural nationalism, safety and security of common man and developmental work done by the BJP government during its tenure will be the three main issues on which the party will seek votes," he said.
Rana said the government, by "effectively controlling" post-Godhra violence, "has shown that it has taken the onus of security of common man".
He said, "Solving the perennial water crisis has been the biggest achievement of the BJP government during its four and a half year tenure."
Rana sought to play down differences in BJP over ticket distribution, particularly the delay in announcing the party nominee for Ellisbridge constituency following reported opposition from Chief Minister Narendra Modi to the renomination of senior leader Haren Pandya for the constituency.
"Out of 182 seats, there are some that needed more deliberation," he said conceding it was "tough" taking a decision about the constituency.
