Blasts fail to deter Naga votersDespite six minor blasts in Kohima, polling in Nagaland began on an encouraging note today, official sources said. Six minor blasts were reported in Chandmari, Jailroad, Yinpatty, New NST and Borobasti in the early hours today. However, there was no casualty. People were voting in good numbers in several polling booths of the town. A Dimapur report said that the initial voter turnout was low and in some polling booths it was nil. The district administration, however, hoped that the turnout would pick up later in the day. A report from Mon district said that the polling was proceeding smoothly and that the district administration is expecting a good turnout. However, reports from the other parts of the state were awaited, official sources said. In Manipur, polling in all the 911 booths in the inner Manipur constituency began at 0700 hours on a dull note. The voter turnout was as low as two per cent during the first hour. It was picking up gradually. UNI
