BJP candidate killed in mine blast in AnantnagGhulam Hyder Noorani, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for the Anantnag parliamentary constituency, was killed along with two others in a mine blast on Pahalgam road in South Kashmir this afternoon. Official sources said the car in which he was travelling was blown up in a powerful mine blast. Noorani, his driver and another person were killed on the spot. Noorani was reportedly going to address an election meeting in a nearby village. Senior police and civil officials have rushed to the site. He is the first candidate to be killed by militants during elections in Jammu and Kashmir since 1996. UNI
