Sushma, Sonia's nominations are validNomination papers of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who is making her electoral debut from Bellary Lok Sabha constituency and her BJP rival Sushma Swaraj, have been declared valid by returning officer Raj Kamal. He said after scrutiny that the nomination papers of K C Kondaiah, Congress member of the dissolved Lok Sanbha from Bellary and M Rajasekharamurthy (BJP) have been rejected as they were not accompanied by the necessary B-form, indicating that the candidate was not the official party nominee. Nomination papers of five others, including N Thipanna (Janata Dal-United), K Mahalingappa (Janata Dal-Secular), M Nagaraj (Bahujan Samaj Party) and two other independent members were also found valid, he said. Amidst high drama, Gandhi had yesterday filed her papers for the Bellary seat, a Congress stronghold. UNI
