Harmison urges duo to end dispute

England paceman Steve Harmison has urged captain Kevin Pietersen and coach Peter Moores to settle their differences for the sake of the team.

The pair's fractious relationship since Pietersen took over the captaincy in August has come to a head in recent days and a poor series of results since Moores became coach nearly two years ago have not helped the situation.

"They have got to get their heads together and have a chat and sort out the issues," Harmison told the BBC on Monday. "It's about the England cricket team, not Peter Moores or Kevin Pietersen.

"They have got to be in harmony because otherwise they will drift the team further apart. If there is a problem it needs to be sorted sooner rather than later."

Pietersen told Sunday's News of the World he wants the issue sorted out before England arrive in the West Indies later this month for a four-test tour.

The captain, who has held talks with England and Wales Cricket Board managing director Hugh Morris, said: "This situation is not healthy, we have to make sure it is settled as soon as possible and certainly before we fly off to the West Indies.

"Everything has to be hunky dory, everybody has to have the same aims and pull in the same direction for the good of the England team."

Moores refused to comment on the row on Saturday.
