916 - The number of runs made by Andrew Strauss in Test matches in 2008, most by any English batsman.
129 - The number of runs added by Strauss and Paul Collingwood for the fourth wicket at close of play on day three of the first Test -- highest partnership for England for this wicket at Chennai. The previous best was 109 between Mike Brearley and Tony Greig in 1976-77.
7 - Strauss became only the seventh opening batsman to score a hundred and a fifty in the same match against India in India. He is third Englishman to do so after CF Walters (59 and 102 at Chennai in 1933-34) and Alastair Cook (60 and 104 not out at Nagpur in 2005-06).
5 - Five of Strauss' seven innings on Indian soil have been ended by wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni behind the stumps. It could have been six on Saturday but Dhoni failed to latch on to a thick edge when Strauss had made just 15.
5 - Kevin Pietersen's run-aggregate in the match -- 4 in the first innings and 1 in the second innings. This is the first time in his career that Pietersen was dismissed in single-digits in both innings of a Test match.
1 - Dhoni became the first Indian captain to score fifties in five consecutive innings. The sequence started with 92 and 68 not out against Australia in Mohali. He did not captain India at Delhi, but was back at the helm of affairs in Nagpur Test, where he made 56 and 55. Sourav Ganguly held the previous record of most consecutive fifties as Indian captain with four consecutive fifties in 2002.
