The final blow was indeed the cruelest. India coach John Wright ended his tenure in the dumps as India lost the sixth and final ODI against Pakistan at Delhi by an embarrassing margin of 159 runs.

It was India's fifth heaviest defeat and the worst thrashing ever on home soil. Incidentally, it was Pakistan who had inflicted India's previous heaviest defeat on home soil during the Pepsi Triangular Series in 1998-99.
