- Salman Butt (101) scored his second one-day international century. Both his centuries have come against India. He had made an unbeaten 108 in the BCCI Platinum Jubilee match in Kolkata on 13-11-2004.

- The 145-run partnership between Butt and Shoaib Malik is Pakistan's best for the second wicket on Indian soil. The previous best was the 113 between the same pair in Kolkata on 13-11-2004.

- Inzamam-ul-Haq (when his score reached 4) became the leading run-scorer against India in ODIs surpassing Saeed Anwar's aggregate of 2,002 (in 50 matches). At the end of this match, Inzamam aggregated reads 2,022 runs in 57 matches against India.

- The wicket of Sachin Tendulkar was the 100th for Mohammad Sami in his 69th ODI. He became the 13th Pakistan bowler and 72nd overall to do so.

- Rahul Dravid, playing his 249th match, completed 8,000 runs in his one-day international career (for India and Asian XI) when his score reached 18. He became the 11th batsman to do so.

- Younis Khan became the fourth fielder after New Zealand's Ken Rutherford (at Napier in 1994-95) and Chris Harris (at Colombo RPS in 2001) and Australia's Michael Clarke (at Melbourne in 2003-04) to take 4 catches in an innings against India.

- Younis also became the first fielder in ODI history to have taken four catches in an innings on more than one occasion. He had also held four catches against Zimbabwe at Harare on 01-12-2002.

- Irfan Pathan (64) registered his highest ODI score eclipsing the 38 he had made at Colombo (RPS) also against Pakistan on 25-07-2004.

- Pathan's innings is also the highest by an Indian number eight batsman against Pakistan. Ajit Agarkar, with 47 in the ICC Champions Trophy match at Birmingham on 19-09-2004, held the previous record.

- Incidentally there has been only one higher score than Pathan's 64 made at number eight against Pakistan in all ODIs. West Indian Malcolm Marshall made 66 at Gujranwala on 04-11-1986.

- The ninth wicket partnership of 52 runs between Pathan and Zaheer Khan is India's best against Pakistan, bettering the 39 between Yuvraj Singh and Laxmipathy Balaji at Peshawar on 19-03-2004.

- Naved-ul-Hasan (6 for 27) recorded his career-best bowling figures bettering his 4 for 25 also against India at Birmingham on 19-09-2004. Naved is the third Pakistan bowler to claim six or more wickets against India after Imran Khan (6-14 at Sharjah on 22-03-1985) and Aaqib Javed (7-37 at Sharjah on 25-10-1991).

- Naved-ul-Hasan's 6 for 27 is the best bowling performance ever by any bowler on Indian soil against India. West Indian Patrick Patterson had returned the figures of six for 29 (in 9.4 overs) against India at Nagpur on 08-12-1987. Infact, only Anil Kumble, with his 6 for 12 in the Hero Cup final on 27-11-1993 has returned the better figures than Naved in all ODIs on Indian soil.

- The 106-run victory provided the sixth instance of Pakistan inflicting a 100-run defeat over India. It was the third such instance for them on Indian soil.
