Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the fourth one-day international between India and Pakistan to be held in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, April 12, police sources said on Sunday.

"The entire approach road towards the stadium will be under close scrutiny. Nobody without a ticket will be allowed to even venture anywhere near the stadium," P K Jha, Inspector General of police (Gandhinagar range), told reporters at the Sardar Patel stadium in Motera.

"Anybody found loitering or any group of more than four persons would be detained. Moreover, each ticket holder will have to carry some identification," Jha said.

"More than 3000 policemen, including some in plainclothes, would be deployed from the airport to the stadium to prevent any untoward incident," he added.

However, he said: "the route and the entire security measures of both the teams would not be disclosed. The security will be adequate and elaborate," Jha added.

Two companies of state Reserve Police and one company of Rapid Action Force (RAF) would be deployed strategically including at sensitive locations in the city, Jha said.

To a question if police was expecting any disturbance during the crucial match, he said: "we suspect anybody can come and create mischief; that is why so many preventive and security measures have been taken".

The Gujarat Cricket Association President Narhari Amin said that GCA would also deploy security personnel in and around the stadium while Yellow Guards from Mumbai would ensure proper ticket checking.

Spectators would not be allowed to carry water bottles, snacks, cameras or placards inside the stadium, GCA sources said adding that a special glass shield would be set up in the players' gallery as part of the security measure.

For the first time, GCA would provide an insurance cover of Rs 2 crore to the Pakistan team.
