India 87-run victory in the first one-day international in Kochi on Saturday is it's biggest over Pakistan. The previous best for India was by 60 runs at Sharjah in 1991-92.

Following are more statistical highlights of the first one-dayer:

- Shahid Afridi got another world record to his name during the game. Afridi is now the youngest player to appear in 200 ODIs at 25 years one month beating Sachin Tendulkar's record. Sachin was 25 years and five months old when he played his 200th match.

- Arshad Khan was making his comeback into ODIs after a gap of about 4 years and six months. He had last appeared for Pakistan in shorter version of the game against New Zealand at Nairobi (Gymkhana) on 11-10-2000. Since then he had missed 130 matches for Pakistan before appearing today against India. Among the Pakistanis only Sajid Ali has missed more matches (154) in between two successive appearances.

- Sourav Ganguly recorded his 14th duck in One-day internationals. This was, however, fifth time he was getting dismissed to the very first ball.

- Virender Sehwag (108) scored his seventh ODI hundred – first against Pakistan. His previous highest against Pakistan was 79 at Karachi on 13-03-2004.

- Sehwag's 84-ball hundred is the fastest by an Indian against Pakistan in all ODIs. The previous fastest was by Krish Srikkanth at Calcutta in 1986-87 - off 89 balls.

- Sehwag took his tally of sixes to 50 to become sixth Indian after Ganguly (168), Tendulkar (142),Jadeja (85), Azharuddin (77) and Kapil (67) to do so.

- Rahul Dravid (104) scored tenth hundred of his ODI career – second against Pakistan after his 107 at Chennai on 21-05-1997.

- It was the second time that two Indian batsmen scored hundreds in the same innings against Pakistan. The first and only other such instance was seen at Sharjah on 15-04-1996 when Sachin Tendulkar (118) and Navjot Sidhu (101) scored hundreds.

- The third wicket partnership of 201 runs between Sehwag and Dravid is India's best for this wicket against Pakistan in all matches. The pair obliterated the previous record stand of 161 between Dravid and Mohammad Azharuddin at Toronto on 17-09-1996.

- The above partnership is second highest for third wicket for India against ALL countries after 237 run (unbroken) partnership between Dravid and Tendulkar against Kenya at Bristol on 23-05-1999.

- Sachin Tendulkar (5-50) returned the best figures by an Indian bowler against Pakistan in India obliterating Ravi Shastri's 4-38 at Calcutta in 1986-87.

- Tendulkar was taking a five-wicket haul for the second time in his career. Interestingly his only other such haul had also come at this ground when he took 5 for 32 v Australia in 1997-98.

- The tenth wicket partnership of 42 runs between Naved-ul-Hasan and Arshad Khan is best for this wicket for Pakistan against India. The previous best was 31 (unbroken) between Wasim Raja and Azeem Hafeez at Melbourne on 10-03-1985.

- It was after losing five consecutive matches at home India registered a win over Pakistan. In fact it was only second win for India at home against Pakistan in last dozen games.

- Virender Sehwag was winning his 13th Man of the Match award – his first against Pakistan.
