The 336 run partnership for the third wicket between Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar is the fourteenth double century partnership involving Tendulkar. With this Tendulkar has equalled Sir Donald Bradman's world record of participating in the most number of double century partnerships in Test cricket.

Tendulkar is way ahead of Sunil Gavaskar and Rahul Dravid, joint second place holders among the Indians with six double century partnerships apiece.

Among contemporary  players, two Australians, Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer, with 10 double century partnerships each,  are closest to Tendulkar.
